Richard Farleigh, the University's Chancellor (2012-2018) was made an Honorary Doctor of Laws and installed as the new Chancellor in July 2012.
Lord Sainsbury was made an Honorary Doctor of Letters of South Bank University in 1992.
Sir Graham Day was made an Honorary Doctor of Laws in 1993.
Graham Chase was born in North-West London. While still at school, he won an RAF Flying Scholarship which led to him securing his private pilots licence at the age of just 19. He went on to study at the Willesden College of Professional Building and qualified as an associate of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in 1980.
Graham began his career as a property manager with the BBC, eventually rising to head up some 200 surveyors across the UK at Colliers Erdman Lewis. In 1995, he set up his own practice, Chase and Partners, providing development advice and consultancy in the retail and leisure property sectors. Graham advised on the £350 million acquisition of the Iceland Group and Booker Group and the £700 million financing deal for the Agora and Catalyst shopping centre portfolios and is currently working to secure equity stakeholders for a $5 billion regeneration and redevelopment project in Chicago.
A fellow of the RICS since 1988 – and president between 2006 and 2007 – Graham is also a member of the Court of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors and current chair of the Education Committee since 2011. He advises the government on property issues, and is President of the Association of Town Centre Management. He sits on the RICS President's Arbitrators and Independent Experts Panel and is regularly called on as an expert witness.
A passionate advocate for education, Graham chairs the Joint Oxford Study Weekend and is a founder and director of the CPD Foundation. He is also a trustee, governor and director of Alford House, a youth club based in Lambeth. Chase and Partners have sponsored Saracens Rugby Club since it turned professional in 1995.
He was made an Honorary Fellow in July 2012.

FSLL (born 8 October 1929) is a British politician who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for West Bromwich and West Bromwich West from 1973 to 2000. From 1992 to 2000, she served as Speaker of the House of Commons. She is the only woman to have served as Speaker.

Sarah Rose spent over twenty five years building up an art collection of works by David Bomberg and members of the Borough Group. She donated the collection in trust to London South Bank University, where it is exhibited in the Borough Gallery. She was made an Honorary Fellow in July 2012.
Judith Kelly OBE is a theatre director and producer and was Artistic Director of the Southbank Centre in London from 2005-2018. She was made an Honorary Doctor of Letters in 2013.
Michael Gregg Wilson is a producer and screenwriter of many of the James Bond films. He was made an Honorary Doctor of Letters in 2013.
Greg Searle is an Olympic rowing champion. He was made an Honorary Fellow at the ceremony.
Frank Brake studied at the Borough Polytechnic Institute and went on to found Brake Brothers, a leading UK supplier of food to the catering industry. He has established the Frank Brake Scholarship at London South Bank University, providing financial support for four students each year on the MSc Enterprise and MSc Food Safety and Control courses. He was made an Honorary Fellow of the University in 2012.
Sir Michael Bear trained as a civil engineer and was the 683rd Lord Mayor of London from November 2010 - November 2011. He was made an Honorary Doctor of Sciences of the University in 2012.
Hitesh Tailor is an alumnus of the Polytechnic of the South Bank and sat on the Board of Governors from 2001 until 2010. In 2011 the Hitesh Tailor Annual Lecture was launched. He was made an Honorary Fellow at the ceremony.

Barbara Goss Levi earned a PhD in particle physics from Stanford University in 1971. For most of the past 30 years, she has written for Physics Today magazine, reporting on new discoveries at the frontiers of physics. After rising to senior editor, she was in charge of Physics Today's news section, "Search and Discovery". In January of 2003, she stepped down from that post and now serves as a contributing editor. Her stories cover the full range of topics in physics today, from atomic to astrophysics, from condensed matter to geophysics.
Because of Dr. Levi's interest in issues at the interface of physics and society, she became a consultant for the US Congress' Office of Technology Assessment, from the late 1970s to the Office's closure in 1995. From 1981 to 1987, Dr. Levi was a member of the research staff at Princeton University's Center for Energy and Environmental Studies. Her work there on arms control and the effects of nuclear weapons resulted in, among others, two articles in Scientific American.
