Charity CommissionComprises digital images of the cake at the National Bakery School prior to the ceremony and of the Christmas Cake Ceremony itself.
The 4-foot fruit cake was made by ten National Bakery School students and was decorated with choirboys, snowmen and Christmas trees along with Australian badges, flags, symbols and birds related to the State of Victoria. The ceremony was held in the Great Hall of the Royal Hospital Chelsea and was attended by the Mayor of Chelsea, Councillor Charles Williams and the Governor of the hospital. The cake was ceremoniously cut with a traditional sword by a Chelsea Pensioner who had served with both the United Kingdom and Australian forces.
