The Borough Polytechnic Freemason's Lodge was formed on 21st December 1911. The booklet describes the Lodge's history, members and the use of the Bridge House mark in its mark.

Plaque inscribed; 'The Schools, comprising PHYSICS LABORATORY, PHYSICS LECTURE THEATRE, and SCHOOL OF COOKERY, were erected in 1898, and named in recognition of the services MR. EDRIC BAYLEY has rendered to the Borough Polytechnic as Chairman of the Governing Body, since the Foundation of the Institute in 1892.'

The full title is: The Borough Polytechnic Institute, London, S.E. A Description of the Institute and its Work, 1892-1904. Illustrated. Presented at the Public Opening of the Engineering and Building Trades' and Domestic Economy Blocks, and the Porch and Entrance Hall, November 16th, 1904.
