Part of London South Bank University Students' Union

Comprises correspondence and documents regarding the transfer of management of the Sports Ground from London South Bank University Students' Union to the University's Academy of Sport, Physical Activity & Wellbeing.

Until 2006 Turney Road Sports Ground was managed by three entities: the University's Academy of Sport managed the outdoor grounds and changing areas; the Students' Union managed the bar, catering facilities and pavilion and the University Building Services paid the lease and maintained all the buildings and facilities on the site.

Between 2003-2006 a decision was made to align the sports pitches, bar and pavilion space under one management entity, the Academy of Sport.

Photographs of the Student Union in its various homes over the decades.

LSBU's Students' Union has moved homes several times, originally starting life in the Borough Road building before finding its home in Rotary Street during the 1970s. From September 1990 the SU was housed in the George Overend building on Keyworth Street, which was named after Prof. George Overend, a former member of the Governing Body. The building was formerly used by a printing machine factory company called Vickers and was purchased by the Polytechnic in 1987, at first to house the Finance Department. The building was altered by RMJM Architects to contain a SU shop, bar, hairdressers and events hall. The SU backed onto the Learning Resource Centre.

The SU was moved back into Rotary Street in the 2000s when the Keyworth Street site was demolished to make way for LSBU's K2 building. A temporary structure was erected along Thomas Doyle Street providing a two storey SU building with shop, bar, offices, events area and outside seating. It was used until November 2012 when the Union moved into the new Students Centre next to Borough Road Building.
