Comprises programmes and speakers' notes from short courses in paediatric nursing sponsored by the British Council. The records come from Course 537 (July 1985), Course 726 (June-July 1987) and Course 945 (July 1989).

Contains records from the Charles West School of Nursing and its parent body, the Hospitals for Sick Children now Great Ormond Street Hospital. The collection has been arranged into the following series:

CWSN/1 - Academic Records: concerning course syllabuses, student numbers, assessments and course planning (1962-c.1995).

CWSN/2 - Publications: publicity material and historical publications (1952-1992).

CWSN/3 - Reference material: records produced by external bodies and held in the School of Nursing Library (1961-1991).

Contains records concerning course planning and development including monitoring reports, planning documents for secondments, and timetables and planning documents for different courses.

Comprises booklets for different nursing courses containing information about course staffing and management, the curriculum, assessments and evaluations.

Course guide from the University of London Institute of Education including timetables and reading lists for scheduled classes.

A green, rectangular badge featuring the logo of the Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street for students on the enrolled nurse course.

Comprises folders for four years of teaching giving statistical information on the number of applications, intake, examination results and withdrawals each year. Each folder also includes a staff list for the year.

A report titled: 'Experimental Scheme of Training for Registered Mental Nurses to Undertake General Training in Eighteen Months at Kingston Hospital'' giving an overview of the proposed scheme.

Comprises the following government and Parliamentary reports and documents:

• A copy of the Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors Act 1979 and the Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors Rules Approval Order 1983.

• A report of the Committee on Nursing presented to Parliament by the Secretary of State for Social Services, 1972.

• Reports by the National Nursing Staff Committee for the Department of Health and Social Security and Scottish Home and Health Department concerning hospital staffing and facilities for children.

A blue, oval badge featuring the new logo and name of the Hospital: it changed name to Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in 1994.

Comprises two historical publications and a visitors book used as part of the centenary celebrations for nurses training at the Hospital.

Comprises five brochures promoting the Hospital and its work. One brochure specifically promotes study at the Institute of Child Health and two are guides to the Hospital for children and parents.

Comprises a staff handbook from the 1980s for The Hospitals for Sick Children, London staff.

Reports and handbooks from the Joint Board concerning their courses and syllabuses, including guides for staff.
