The Tower, Metal, Extension and Joseph Lancaster Blocks were built together and so the plans were drawn up simultaneously and kept together. Thus this file comprises plans of the Tower Block from 1964-2013 and also plans of the other blocks up until 2005. Post-2005 plans for the other Blocks can be found in files LSBU/2/2/8/16-18.

Correspondence, notes, schedules, programmes, invitations, seating plans, minutes and press releases regarding the arrangements for officially opening the Polytechnic's new extension buildings on 9 July 1969 by The Duke of Edinburgh. Contains letters from James Orr C.V.O., The Duke of Edinburgh's private secretary.

Includes: details of educational work carried out by the Borough Polytechnic not included under the general heading of Science, Technology, Art or Elementary Commercial Education: notes on the organisation and work of the Polytechnic, which includes duties and salaries of staff; report on the qualifications of a manager for a Polytechnic Institution; report of inspection of the Borough Polytechnic, c1910.

Includes: salary estimates, 1894-1895; draft timetable; memorandum on the question of admission of girls to the Day School; selected candidates for post of Cookery Teacher; reports and changes to the curriculum.

Includes correspondence regarding insurance for Borough Road Building and the sports pavilion at Turney Road along with plans of Borough Road Building from May 1903 and July 1910 and insurance certificates, 1909-1925.

Contains details of the students and staff of the Borough Polytechnic who died during the First World War and whose names are on the First World War memorial in the Borough Road building.
