Sir Michael Bear trained as a civil engineer and was the 683rd Lord Mayor of London from November 2010 - November 2011. He was made an Honorary Doctor of Sciences of the University in 2012.
S Jennings was a Lecturer in Public Health Engineering at the Brixton School of Building. He later became Head of Department of Technician Studies at Vauxhall College of Building and Further Education.
The Joint Board of Clinical Nursing Studies was set up in 1970. It became the English National Board for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting in 1983, which then became the Nursing and Midwifery Council in 2002.
