S Jennings was a Lecturer in Public Health Engineering at the Brixton School of Building. He later became Head of Department of Technician Studies at Vauxhall College of Building and Further Education.

The Joint Board of Clinical Nursing Studies was set up in 1970. It became the English National Board for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting in 1983, which then became the Nursing and Midwifery Council in 2002.
The "Life in the United Kingdom" Advisory Group was established in September 2002 with the remit to advise the Home Secretary on the method, conduct and implementation of a "Life in the United Kingdom" naturalisation test.
