Sarah Mullally, a former student, was made an Honorary Fellow of the University in June 2000.
In 1980 she began a nursing degree at South Bank Polytechnic, with clinical placements at St Thomas' Hospital, and was awarded joint Registered General Nurse (RGN) status and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in 1984. In 1992 she completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in inter-professional health and welfare studies at London South Bank University. From 1999 to 2004, she was the England's Chief Nursing Officer and the National Health Service's director of patient experience for England; from July 2015 until 2018, she was Bishop of Crediton, a suffragan bishop in the Diocese of Exeter. In 2018 she became Bishop of London. Mullally was also an independent governor for London South Bank University between 2005 and 2015.

Driscoll, Terence

Terence Driscoll, an engineer, opened Driscoll House Hotel on New Kent Road in 1965 and continued to be active in the running of Driscoll House until his final weeks. He was a constant presence in the hostel's office and at the front desk. A regular feature of his week was the speech delivered at Sunday lunch. Much preparation went into this address which included news from past residents, letters received that week and mention of interesting events in the capital. The 200-bed Driscoll House offered London's cheapest hotel accommodation and it was claimed that more than 50,000 guests from 210 different countries had stayed there.

Terence Driscoll was made an Honorary Fellow of the University in 2001.

Dame Ruth Muldoon Silver is a British academic administrator and promoter of education policy. She was Principal of Lewisham College for 17 years until 2009, and was chair of the Working Men's College governing board from 2002-05. In 2010, she became the chair of the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS), a public body for Further Education and skills development.

Chase, Graham

Graham Chase was born in North-West London. While still at school, he won an RAF Flying Scholarship which led to him securing his private pilots licence at the age of just 19. He went on to study at the Willesden College of Professional Building and qualified as an associate of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in 1980.

Graham began his career as a property manager with the BBC, eventually rising to head up some 200 surveyors across the UK at Colliers Erdman Lewis. In 1995, he set up his own practice, Chase and Partners, providing development advice and consultancy in the retail and leisure property sectors. Graham advised on the £350 million acquisition of the Iceland Group and Booker Group and the £700 million financing deal for the Agora and Catalyst shopping centre portfolios and is currently working to secure equity stakeholders for a $5 billion regeneration and redevelopment project in Chicago.

A fellow of the RICS since 1988 – and president between 2006 and 2007 – Graham is also a member of the Court of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors and current chair of the Education Committee since 2011. He advises the government on property issues, and is President of the Association of Town Centre Management. He sits on the RICS President's Arbitrators and Independent Experts Panel and is regularly called on as an expert witness.

A passionate advocate for education, Graham chairs the Joint Oxford Study Weekend and is a founder and director of the CPD Foundation. He is also a trustee, governor and director of Alford House, a youth club based in Lambeth. Chase and Partners have sponsored Saracens Rugby Club since it turned professional in 1995.

He was made an Honorary Fellow in July 2012.
